Level 2. Interaction Units
Level 2 groups interactions units. An Interaction Unit is the user perceptible user interface in given point of time where the user interacts with the system.
The Presentation Units [Bodart, 1994] abstract these contexts as a set of AIOs [Vanderdonckt, 1993] (Abstract Interface Objects) discarding design issues. Interaction Units are Presentation Units dealing not only with presentation but also supporting behavioral and task constraints.
Some very common Interaction Units are:
- Service Interaction Unit
- Instance Interaction Unit
- Population Interaction Unit
- Master/Detail Interaction Unit
- Wizard Interaction Unit
Representation
An Interaction Unit is represented by a wireframe box showing its name and its type in the inner space.
